  1. How to plan a Sikkim trip Sikkim is a vast place, there are parts like north Sikkim, and South Sikkim and visiting all of it in one holiday is only possible if you have a plan of over twenty days. If that’s not the case, you will have to do thoughtful planning with the India Tourism  Sikkim Tour package that you take from your travel agent to see the most of it. But the Sikkim tour is a matter of time; Depending on the time you can invest, Here’s a list of places that can fit your time slot.

  2. 3 Days and 2 Nights Trip: This is the shortest time duration that you can think of for the Sikkim holiday. The trip would comprise just two places, mostly Gangtok and Darjeeling. While planning such a trip, talk to your tour guide and let him pick you up from NJP station or Bagdogra airport. Head straight to Gangtok, stay there for a day, do as much shopping and sightseeing as you want, and then early in the morning the next day travel to Darjeeling. Stay there for a day and night and then head to the departure place the next day, be it station or airport straight from Darjeeling.

  3. 5 Days and 4 Excellent Nights Trips: This will be a better option because you can see Gangtok and visit Lachen and Lachung. No matter where you wish to go, the first destination from NJP station or Bagdogra airport will be Gangtok. Your stay at this place will be for one and a half-day, and then you can move to Lachen and enjoy the seven sister’s fall and many other scenic beauties on the way. After staying in Lachen, you will move to Lachung and remain there overnight. Later move back to Gangtok and then head for departure.

  4. 7 Nights Stay: This will be when you choose the Gangtok, Darjeeling and Pelling tour. If you are not in a hurry, then this plan is ideal for a much-needed break from regular life—your trip begins from Gangtok as usual, where you stay for three nights. Sightseeing to Tosmong lake and Baba Mandir will all happen from Gangtok. Along with this, as you will be staying for the longest time in Gangtok, local sightseeing and shopping will also be done here. On the fourth day, you will be travelling to Pelling, where sightseeing and local excavations will be done again. After staying there for about two days, you can head to Darjeeling and enjoy your stay there amongst all the lovely localities and their amazing street food.

  5. 8 Days and 7 Nights: If mountains are a feeling and not just a natural thing for you, Darjeeling and North Sikkim are ideal destinations for your holiday. The mountains will engulf you away from the hot and humid plains into its serenity, peace, and belongingness. For this trip, the first destination will be Darjeeling, where you can enjoy the sunrise and sunset amidst the Kanchenjunga. While enjoying breakfast at Glenaries, you can then head to Gangtok, where your trip to North Sikkim begins. With the delicate blend of cultures in the monasteries and mandirs and modern life, Gangtok is the largest city in Sikkim.

  6. Trekking Time: Well, if you plan to go trekking, you will have to take time because a complete trek happens in about 8-9 days to places like Sandakphu. So, if you plan for trekking, then the entire picture of the trip changes, and so does the time duration and planning. When it’s a trekking trip, then the location of the trek decides the time and not vice versa.

  7. Holidays are not just about Travelling: You need to understand that a trip is not always about seeing all the places at one go. It is mostly about seeing all of the things in one place and then moving forward. For example, if you cannot make it for more than 4 days, you aim to see one place completely rather than seeing 4 different locations in fragments. Often travellers make this mistake while taking their Sikkim tourism package that they focus more on visiting Gangtok, Darjeeling, Pelling, Lachen and Lachung all at one go. What happens by the end is that they do not get to see any of these places and the scenic beauties ultimately; instead they tie themselves up just by travelling miles. So, avoid doing that; if you are running short of time, prefer just visiting Darjeeling and enjoying the street foods and the ambience, or visit Gangtok and see the cultural mix there. It’s not advisable to just aimlessly travel and not reach a destination.
