  1. How have teachers managed to evolve over changing times in India? The human mind is like a sponge, absorbing whatever is dished out to it; therefore, it is extremely important to be careful how and what is fed to the mind. Education is the biggest catalyst for shaping the mind and providing it with the requisite input for igniting understanding and growth. Teaching is considered one of the noblest professions and the only profession that is the foundation of all other professions in the world. The Guru or teacher has been a deeply revered and respected venerable identity in India for centuries. The tradition of believing the guru unquestioningly and following the instructions has evolved into a more inclusive and friendly interaction between teachers and students. The schools in Ahmedabad have also kept up with the changing times, upgrading the teaching standards and methods at regular intervals. Teachers are an integral part of all our lives and how we shape up as individuals. A good teacher makes all the difference in the quality of education and a student’s understanding. In such a uniquely diverse nation as India, maintaining uniformity in the education system without hindering progress is a huge responsibility, which our exceptional teachers in the country and the schools in satellite Ahmedabad have handled remarkably by growing and evolving with the changing times.

  2. Teachers are evolving with the times. Technology has been a game changer and a major catalyst for change in the world. Today’s generation has grown up with gadgets and technology, and navigating them comes naturally to them. Learning is not limited to only books now, with the ocean-deep availability of knowledge through the internet and computers. The curriculum and mode of teaching have undergone a massive change, with the teachers upgrading their knowledge and skills to connect with the new generation. 1.Simplifying education: To take advantage of technology for lightening the workload by providing assistance for preparing lessons and exam papers in multi-media format, the teaching community was trained in computer skills and globally practised teaching methods. 2.Better evaluation and marking: The online feedback system has been a boon for teachers to evaluate their teaching methods and the levels of understanding of the students. Checking assignments and exam papers and marking them has become better and more exacting, especially after the pandemic hit humankind. 3.Stepping up and standing tall in stressful times: During and after the pandemic, the world had to urgently adapt to the dynamic changes demanded by the very unique and strenuous circumstances, and the field of education faced a massive impact with the shutting down of institutions and people locked in their homes. The impressive, innovative methods designed by the teaching community made sure that children’s education did not suffer. 4.Extending their reach: Technology truly has made the world an oyster for children, and the flexibility of being able to connect and teach from any location, as well as the creative freedom that comes with this flexibility, has allowed the teaching community to experiment with and introduce new ways of imparting knowledge. 5.Enabling a secure environment: The teacher-student dynamic has become more friendly and informal, making education a more joyful and inclusive exchange. This has enabled the teachers to create a comfortable and secure environment for the students for better learning and the exchange of ideas. The traditional parampara of teachers being controllers has evolved into them being facilitators and, many times, also team players. 6.Adapting to the needs of the time: Technology has sped up the pace of life, and with that comes the ever-changing circumstances that can be

  3. overwhelming for young students. The schools in Ahmedabad have recognised the need of the times and have designated in-house student counselors. Despite this, the teachers have had to expand their role as guides and mentors by also being compassionate listeners and counsellors to their students. Many schools organise special workshops to sensitise the faculty about handling this delicate responsibility with sensitivity and wisdom. 7.Advocating education: Teachers are often expected to adopt the position of leadership at various forums and in the educational community, where they also perform the duty of being advocates of education and influence and enrich the culture of the institution—a role the teachers have stepped into beautifully by not just advocating the importance of good education but also walking their talk by displaying and sharing their individual talent and skills. Today, the teachers in India and the schools in Ahmedabad are not simply gurus; they are also friends, confidantes, teammates, cheerleaders, community builders, leaders, and counsellors.
