  2. What is the crime/ mystery/ problem of the story? • The crime/ mystery/ problem of the story is who killed Caleb the slave. • Caleb was a slave for his owner. He was murdered in his room with the door locked from the inside. Who did the crime and how did he get away with it?

  3. What type of mystery story are you reading. Support your answer with evidence from the book. • The type of story that we are reading is gothic novel. • I think that it is gothic novel because the setting is always in a suspicious place. It takes place in a old tavern around the time of 1800’s.

  4. How is uncertainty and suspense present in your novel? • Uncertainty and suspense is presented in my novel when Kenny goes into the past and finds himself in the 1800’s. It was uncertainty because he found himself in the middle of the bargaining in the revolutionary war.

  5. What clues are presented in the novel and how are they clues? • The clues that are presented in my novel is when Kenny goes in the past for the second time. He finds the guy named Willinghast which was from the twentieth century. He is from the twentieth century because Kenny talks to him about all this historical information.

  6. What are the suspects and why do you consider them as suspects? • The suspects in my novel are willnghast. • I think that it is willinghast because Kenny meets him in the twentieth century . He is also presented around the 1800’s .The reason why he is a suspect is because Kenny sees him when he is in the past.
