  3. Remember: Do not use “ed” at the end of irregular verbs. Examples: read (irregular past form of “read”) put (irregular past form of “put”) cut (irregular past form of “cut”) set (irregular past form of “set”)

  6. Formula for the Simple Past Tense Subject + Verb + Object + Time Expression (optional) (optional) Example: Bill + bought + a sandwich + this afternoon. S V O (time expression)
