  4. Media3 blends unique expertise and assets in advanced MPEG-4-based linear video delivery, with a strong and established VOD practice. • We've established a multi-platform suite that lets you push or pull content to the nation's video service providers, efficiently serving their burgeoning footprint of IP-connected, video capable screens – the pads, pods, and tabs.  • Our mission is singularly focused on providing you with a superlative suite of managed video services. Whether your distribution needs call for a fully managed end-to-end solution, or you are looking to increase your viewership, or capitalize on dynamic ad insertion (DAI) solutions. Media Three Corporation Secure International Video Content Monetization Today's video marketplace involves finding the best path to serve all screens, beyond TV, with quality linear and on demand video services. That means gaining expertise in a new technology, in advanced compression (MPEG-4/AVC), security (AES encryption, digital rights management (DRM)), and adaptive bit rate encoding, to make sure your signal and your show is "right-sized" for the subscriber’s display.

  5. Media Three Corporation Secure International Video Content Monetization Origination & Uplink • At our state-of-the-art head-end in Manhattans NY, we're equipped and ready to ingest your linear assets via traditional satellite or over our fiber-based content delivery network (CDN).  • To ensure secure delivery, we provide linear services in MPEG-4 and apply advanced encryption (AES) to your assets from end-to-end – meaning from you to the signal drop-off point (usually the head-end or central office.)  Transport • We receive and distribute linear and VOD assets via satellite, or through our fiber-based video Content Delivery Network (CDN). • We can deliver on demand content to any head-end, regardless of on-site equipment types, transmitting secure, reliable multicasts via Intelsat's Galaxy 28 satellite.  • The same content can also be conveyed over a secure 10-Gbps super head-end with points of presence (POPs) in L.A., Chicago, New York, and Miami. Note that ABR (Adaptive Bit Rate) and Deep Library access are only available via the fiber CDN.

  6. Media Three Corporation Secure International Video Content Monetization VoD Support • We blended unique expertise and assets in advanced MPEG-4-based linear video delivery, with a strong and established VOD practice that lets you push or pull content to the nation's video service providers, efficiently serving your burgeoning footprint of IP-connected, video capable screens – the pads, pods, and tabs. We provide a superlative suite of managed video services. Whether your distribution needs call for a fully managed, end-to-end solution, looking to increase your viewership, or capitalize on dynamic ad insertion (DAI) solutions.

  7. Media Three Corporation Secure International Video Content Monetization Encoding  • Because different service providers are in different states of readiness to deploy VOD on multi-platform/multi-screen video, we employ a range of encoding techniques. We receive your content in your format of choice, encode or transcode it into the formats required by video service providers (cable, telco, DBS).  • Our encoding options include a variety of formats - MPEG-2, MPEG-4 (H.264), and Adaptive Bitrate Streaming (ABS). For reaching existing digital set-tops (MPEG-2) and newer, IP-based screens (MPEG-4, ABS), formats are available over satellite or through fiber CDN distribution. We support both SD and HD delivery, and ensure that related metadata is compatible with all combinations of server, middleware, guide, set-top, and advertising systems.  • On demand video may be encoded in a variety of formats – MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and Adaptive Bitrate Streaming (ABS), and ensure that associated metadata is compatible with all combinations of servers, middleware, program guides, set-top boxes, and advertising systems.  • Web-based and dynamic metadata modification methods can optimize unique VOD packaging structures. This assures that metadata is accurately and intuitively placed within your affiliate's VOD menu system.

  8. Metadata Management   • Together with our Partners Media3 offers experience in content preparation and asset management.Content preparation services are designed to accommodate rapid turnaround, scheduling growth, and ever-developing new on-demand programming concepts.  • This means a web-based, dynamic, metadata modification system, designed to optimize your unique VOD programming and packaging structures and ensures your assets' metadata is faithfully deposited into the VOD menus of the service provider community, in the most logical and intuitive way.  Media Three Corporation Secure International Video Content Monetization File Management & Delivery  • Technology is the backbone of what we do. To that end, we've created a sophisticated system for encoding, managing, and distributing content • We make VOD cost effective and seamless.

  9. Media Three Corporation Secure International Video Content Monetization Multi-Screen Distribution • Just as the addition of HDTV and VOD to linear subscription television was critical in the early days of digital video, so is the support of adaptive bit rate and relating streaming technologies now, to reach additional screens beyond the TV.  • Our managed services suite supports multiple encoding profiles to provide streaming services on popular Apple and Android devices. The encoded and encrypted streams are delivered over our national fiber content delivery network (CDN), and protected such that only authorized devices can view the content.  • By approaching the multi-platform and multi-screen landscape from a managed service perspective, you sidestep the need for head count and work flow changes to keep up with the ceaseless and rapid evolution of device types, streaming protocols, and signal security.

  10. Blackout Management  • Invariably, situations will arise that require local signal blackouts. Primarily, these revolve around rules from one network to the next.  • The philosophies for signal blackout vary widely, from one program network to another. Some prefer heavy, automated involvement; others leave it up to service providers to implement. As a direct result, the techniques and technologies used to actually blackout individual stations also vary.  • Automated blackout management serves as a sort of universal translator between you and the service provider community. It spans both sports and non-sports programming blackouts, and can be applied in geographic segments based on zip codes, DMAs, and related data.  • We make it possible for you to honor any international distribution rights requirements, and can implement international blackouts based on country and region. Blackout switching to alternate feeds and/or slates is included, as well.  Media Three Corporation Secure International Video Content Monetization

  11. Media Three Corporation Secure International Video Content Monetization Data Collection and Reporting • Media3’s fs|cdn® middleware platform collects and securely stores information on system health, assets , subscriptions, value added services (VAS), and subscriber activity. This information is used to generate billing and provisioning reports, and subscriber usage reports. • Data collected is also used to create Call Detail Records (CDRs), Subscriber Management System Reports (SMS Reports), usage reports and external system monitoring alerts. • Data collection and management used for affiliate and content providers is provided through CDRs and the SMS ViewTrack gateway permitting the measurement of promotional campaigns and ongoing tactics.

  12. Media Three Corporation Secure International Video Content Monetization On-Demand • An On-Demand purchase creates CDR record entries in three databases: the EDGE (PoP), the NOC SMS, and the SMS ViewTrack. EDGE and NOC databases are not accessible by an affiliate or content provider; the SMS ViewTrack database provides read only access to allow the affiliate or content provider to view PPO and PPV purchase records. • CDRs for every VOD, PPV and acquisition are exported from the NOC SMS database via the fs|cdn® Billing Mediation System (BMS) and placed in an affiliate accessible folder for access by the affiliate’s billing system. These records may be exported to a content provider. In conjunction with read only access to the SMS viewtrak database for PPO, PPV and subscription acquisition the content provider is provided with a ‘double entry’ audit of On-Demand purchases, subscription acquisition or cancellation.

  13. Media Three Corporation Secure International Video Content Monetization Subscriptions • A subscription is a combination of one or more channels that a subscriber (or user) purchases as a single item. Subscriptions are defined by the Affiliate, and the creation, modification and deletion of subscriptions is tracked in the NOC SMPS and NOC CDNP databases, along with the identification of the user that modified the subscription. Every purchase or cancellation is recorded in the EDGE and NOC SMS databases. Together with data from NOC EPG database these records are used to create indexed entries in the usage history database. • As with On-Demand, a CDR is also created through the BMS and exported to a file for use by the Affiliate and content provider. CDR totals may be compared to the results of SMS Reports and Usage Reports generated from the usage history database for audit by the affiliate and content provider.

  14. Media Three Corporation Secure International Video Content Monetization Set Top Boxes • Our fs|cdn® middleware platform permits an Affiliate to record inventory assets, such as Set Top Box’s (STBs), associated with a specific subscriber or user. Assets may be entered into the system as they are assigned to a subscriber or into general inventory and assigned to a specific subscriber as deployed. fs|cdn® allows an asset to be entered and tracked as Affiliate or customer owned; fs|cdn® also tracks an asset that is reassigned either to general inventory or to another subscriber. • When an asset is assigned to, modified or removed from a subscriber, separate entries are made in the EDGE SMS, NOC SMS and NOC CDNP databases. These entries are then used to create indexed CDRs by the BMS and exported to a file for use by both the Affiliate and content provider.
