  2. The aim of the CIP is: “To build a strong and coherent Voluntary and Community Sector through infrastructure support and capacity building to enable the sector to deliver high quality and effective services to the people of Cornwall.”

  3. Current membership of CIP is: • Cornwall Rural Community Council • Volunteer Cornwall • East Cornwall CVS • PCDT (Penwith Community Development Trust) • Council for Race Equality in Cornwall • Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum • Cornwall Community Foundation • Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change • Disability Cornwall

  4. PRIORITIES FOR 2009-2011 • Modernising the CIP Infrastructure: Volunteering, Governance and ICT. • Encouraging more Quality Assessment and Benchmarking to prove the capability of the Sector. • Improving Cornwall’s access to funding

  5. Recent work streams: Resilience Toolkits for VCS produced: • Quality Standards • Training Opportunities • Partnership working • Reducing building running costs • Reducing travel costs • How to get and keep volunteers • Funding programmes in Cornwall • Getting connected (Inter-link) • Maximise your funding • Introduction to Equality and Diversity • What is Governance? • Voluntary Sector Support Services • Getting your voice heard

  6. Capacitybuilding/Training Organisation healthchecks • ILCM and PQASSO Staff Training: • Information, Advice and Guidance • Appropriate training provided as required • Supported volunteering

  7. Support for groups Governance Packs for VCS Groups produced by ECCVS Small grants programmes: • Grassroots • Community Grants (ESF) (Plus 14 other small grants programmes administered by Cornwall Community Foundation)

  8. Local Area Agreement Strong 1 (PCDT, CRCC, ECCVS, VC) • Inter-link Cornwall • Community Planning Strong 2 (VC and PVB) • Volunteering: ‘Increase and Develop Active Citizens’ Linked to National Indicators 6 & 7

  9. Capacity building for vulnerable adults Volunteer Cornwall and CRCC Themes: Volunteering, training and governance (funded until 2011)

  10. New areas of work BASIS 2 – funded until July 2011 • 3 part-time Funding Advisors • 1 full-time Equalities Advisor • Volunteering (Using volunteers to support the delivery of public sector services ) ‘Convergence Matters’(Technical Assistance) funding until 2011 • Information and communication relating to Convergence

  11. Survey of local needs Inter-link Cornwall, ECCVS and the VSF are jointly funding a survey of local needs which will help to identify where there are gaps in support for the Voluntary and Community Sector

  12. Communication and Engagement • CIP is now formally established as a working group of the VSF • A Marketing Plan has been written • Marketing materials have been produced Further action required: • CIP Website to be updated • Delivery Area Operational Plans
