  2. Graduation Requirements • English 4.0 credits • Social Science 2.0 credits (Must pass US History) • Math 3.0 credits • Science 2.0 credits • Health/PE 3.5 credits • Consumer Ed .5 credits • Electives 9.0 credits • Constitution Test ________ 24 Total Credits

  3. CREDITS • Credit is based on semester grade • D (60%) Minimum grade for passing and receiving credit • Each semester class = ½ credit

  4. Typical Sophomore Schedule • English II • US History • Math • Science • Physical Education • Elective • Study Hall or another elective

  6. Social Studies • US History (1 year) • Pass the Constitution Test

PE • Drivers Ed if you didn’t take it this year • Options: • *Foundations of Fitness* • Fitness and Sports (Team PE) • Lifetime Fitness and Exercise (Individual PE) • Personal Development • Dance Fitness • Water & Land Activities • Advanced Aquatics • Swim Guard • *Lifestyle Management (a full year course!!)* • *You must take a *class prior to enrollment of other PE courses.

CONSUMER EDUCATION-STATE OF ILLINOIS REQUIREMENT Successful completion of any of the following courses/programs fulfills the State Consumer Education requirement for high school graduation: · Introduction to Business (9, 10) – 1 year · Consumer Education (11, 12) - 1 semester · Personal Invest & Finance (11, 12) – 1 semester · Agribusiness Management (11, 12)—1 year · ICE (Work) program (11, 12) – 1 year

  12. What’s Next? • January 6-16 – YOU will use Career Cruising to enter course requests • January 13-15: Counselors available in Lab 33 over lunch hours • January 16—all requests MUST be SUBMITTED • February 27: Copy of course requests mailed home

  13. Changes? • March 20: Last day to make a change in your course selection • See your counselor to make a course request change

  14. Exceptions after March 20(Found in Career to Course Guide: Page 5) • Conflicts • Successful completion of summer school courses. • Failure to meet course prerequisite. • Driver Education changes for students placed in wrong semester because of age or course failures. • Scheduling conflicts due to computer error. • Missing requirement for university admission
