  1. November General Meeting Remember, remember the 5th of November. 

  2. Service! • Points are DUE FRIDAY, DECEMBER 21st at 12p.m. • Please make sure you have turned in the first half of your points by this time. • If service opps are on the website, you still need to e-mail Nora at least 24hrs in advance. • If this is a new, unlisted opp, it must be 72hrs beforehand so Nora can pre-approve you. • Any opps not approved prior to the event will not count. • Still send the e-mail to: nhsservicevp1@gmail.com • We are also finishing up probation, and will have those letters out by Friday.

  3. Dollar, Dollar Bills=Dues/T-shirts • Please pay your overdue DUES. This means you have one more service point to earn before December 21st. • Cash or check, please. • Don’t forget to put your name in the memo line and what you’re paying for. DUES PIGGY BANK 

  4. Mustache Men/Movember • Movemberis a global organization that raises funds and awareness for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer. They do this by asking men to grow mustaches for the month and asking people to sponsor them for doing so. It really is a fun idea that brings attention to a very serious issue. • Where this idea came from: Mrs. Cobb and Mrs. Fontenot recently lost family members to Prostate Cancer and Pancreatic Cancer and would like to join forces to help combat these diseases. For the two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving Break, male teacher/administrators to grow mustaches in support of this organization. We will then take pictures of the men’s mustaches throughout the next two weeks and ask students to "vote" on the best mustaches by donating money at lunches.

  5. Mustache men/movember • The winner of the best mustache will be announced at the Pep Rally on November 16th. • We have a way for you to participate, as well. We will be selling the attached t- shirt (it will be a darker purple than that in the picture) to help raise funds and support for our cause. Shirts are $10 apiece. • We need your money before the shirt can be ordered. You can make checks payable to KHS NHS (in the memo line please write "Cancer Shirt") and send them to Mrs. Cobb or Fontenot or put them in our box in an envelope.

  6. T-SHIRTS= $10 On sale at all lunches or at Mrs. Cobb’s/Fontenot’s rooms!

  7. Grannies and GrampiesGame Day • Our visit to the elderly for BINGO and other shenanigans will occur on: Sunday, Nov 18th from 1-3p.m. • It will be 1pt./hour for attending and 1/2pt. for prizes and food, capped at 3pts. You have to be in physical attendance in order to receive points. • Please come hang out with the oldies! They are super fun! • Address: Humble Health Care 93 Isaacs Road Humble, TX

  8. Recycling—Two days!!  • We have been asked by the administration that our Recycling Committee pick up items on TUESDAYS and FRIDAYS now. • Tuesdays---public areas (from weekend events) • Fridays---public areas and teachers • Recycling Committee Head: Anthony Jaramillo • If you would like a quick way to earn service points AND help KHS become “greener,” please join us!

  9. Tutoring • Thank you to those who participate in weekly tutoring! Thank you also to those who helped make this a better experience! • Don’t forget: Every Tuesday in the Library 7-9p.m. Please make sure you are here to tutor—it is not a place for horseplay! Also, do not bring food!
