  1. CNN STUDENT NEWSWEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2014 The U.S. is at war with ISIS, what other groups did the U.S. target and why? Does the President need Congressional approval to attack these terrorists? What fighter jet was shot down yesterday & why?

U.S. acted alone in targeting Khorasan because they were believed to be in final stages of plotting attacks against U.S.& Western airlines, they were in the final stages of implementing non-detectable explosives put in common items that could pass through security.2. Pres. Says no as Congress authorized any U.S. pres. to use military force against any groups that participated in Sept. 11th attack against the U.S. Al Qaeda lead the attack and Khorasan is an affiliate of Al Qaeda. So no approval is needed.3. Syrian fighter jet, show down by Israel as it flew into Israel’s air space. Israel does not want to be involved in Syria’s civil but will do what it has to do to protect its citizens.
