  2. Early Life • Born March 14th, 1879 • In the Kingdom of Wurtemburg, Germany • Father: Hermann Einstein • Mother: Pauline Einstein • Family worked at a electrical company • Jewish. • Attended a Catholic elementary school.

Academic Career • On April 30th, 1905 Einstein was awarded a PhD by the University of Zurich. • Loved Physics and math • Wrote 4 amazing papers: • Photoelectric effect • Brownian motion • Special relativity • Equivalence of matter and energy. • These brought him attention to the academic world

  4. Achievements • By 1908, he was recognized as a top scientist • Became a physics professor at the University of Zurich • In 1911, stated general relativity • Confirmed by Sir Arthur Eddington during an solar eclipse 1919 • Famous • 1921, awarded Nobel Prize in Physics • Copley Medal in 1925
