  1. Hunger in our Society Challenge Based Learning By: Brittany Schraeder, Kimi Miller, Taylor Hess

  2. We chose to research hunger in our community in order to understand the affect it has on our society. "Hunger stands in the way of every other development goal: malnourished children can't learn, and starving adults can't work.” -Begley

  3. To implement a solution we volunteered at the Siena Francis House.

  4. While we were volunteering we heard the story of a regular attendee at the Siena Francis House. His name is Peter Hayes and he has been receiving assistance from the Siena Francis House for two years now. He traveled here from Texas and the Siena Francis House has helped him get back on his feet.

  5. Volunteering "Where you spend your money is where you find your values:  so if you are spending every last dime on yourself – newest technology, trendiest clothes, fancy cars, etc,  your world will start to focus around you and connect only to you, if you do things for others,  your world will expand beyond just yourself.” -Jackson

  6. People will not remember your name or your face, but they will remember what you did and how it affected them for the rest of their life.
