Helpful information • You may have more than 1 RinkWriter folder on your desktop • Each folder can be renamed for your games • You can set-up all games in advance for the season • There are step by step instructions for setting up multiple folders and use of • RinkWriter features in the manager tab. • It may be helpful to save each game by the district game number assigned

Game set-up • Open rink writer from your desktop • Accept the licensing agreement • You will now be at the game set-up screen • You will enter all game information by clicking on each section and • inputting data. • You may exit the program and return to set-up without losing information • the program automatically saves your information when you exit. If you wish • return to the current game select continue game when prompted. • To save you score sheet click on the yellow print score sheet button • and save it to the CUTE PDF writer.

Helpful game set-up information • When entering rosters you will need to enter a 2 digit number • Names need to begin with a capital letter • When entering starting lineups you are required to enter the goalie first • Then defenseman, and forwards last • Move the remainder of the roster to the alternates sections • When there is a penalty or goal be sure your priority is entering the time on • the score clock. If you fail to enter the correct time you will receive an error • message and be prompted to correct it. • Printing a worksheet for the scorekeeper is helpful for keeping tally of SOG and • goalie saves. This information gets entered between periods.

Scorekeeping • Once the game is set up all player information will populate for score booking • purposes • When a goal is scored the time of goal should be recorded immediately, also • assure the correct period is selected, select the scoring team, player, assisting • player/s, and type of goal. • Entering penalties is similar to entering goals. • If there are coincidental penalties the program defaults to enter the visiting player • Penalty first. • It is recommended that you make notes on paper when multiple penalties occur. • It may also be helpful to have the penalty box or timekeeper officials help when • there are multiple pieces of information coming in at once. • SOG and saves are recorded manually between periods. It is best to have the • scorekeeper tally these throughout the period on the printed worksheet.

  7. Printing the score sheet • It is recommended that you first print (save) the score sheet as a PDF file through • the cute printer option. • Set up a score sheet folder for all files to be stored • Once you have printed to the PDF file you will exit out of the program, open the • score sheet and print to the printer- print 3 copies • The referees will need to sign the score sheets and they should be distributed • to each team and submitted to the district • The PDF files can be attached to an email and submitted to the district after the game
