  1. STATE FLAG - AN ETERNAL SYMBOL DEFINING STATE'S UNIQUE IDENTITY! Each state flag in the USA is a symbol or emblem of the respective State. All of them are rectangular except one with a pennant shaped for the Ohio state. Most people recognize the flag of the USA, representing the country. Thirteen stripes on the flag depict the original 13 colonies, and 50 white stars on the blue backdrop at the corner represent the 50 states of the country. Like any other country's flag, the colors and symbols in the American flag symbolize different things. The same goes for all state flags, USA, every state flag represents the State, and the states use them to highlight their unique trait distinguishing them from other states. Following is a brief description of flags of some states in the USA and associated exciting facts. New York State Flag - New York state is known as the empire state of the USA. Its flag has a dark blue background and an image of the central coat of arms, featuring a sun, two supporters, and the 'Excelsior' on a ribbon. The left supporter represents freedom by showing his feet on the English crown, while the right symbolizes justice with a sword to fight tyranny. The scene underneath the sun gives a view of the Hudson River with the ships. The State adopted the first version of the coat of arms on the flag in 1778, while it formally adopted the flag in 1896.

  2. New Mexico State Flag: The state flags of New Mexico have a golden yellow background and the ancient red Zia sun symbol with four directions.
