  1. Imperfect Abraham:The Righteousness of God Romans 4:13-25

  2. Imperfect Abraham:The Righteousness of God Who Was Abraham? Why Was He Chosen? What About Us? Romans 4:13-25

  3. Who Was Abraham?

  4. Who Was Abraham? The Sevenfold Promise “I will make you a great nation, I will bless you and Make your name great so that You will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and Him who dishonors you I will curse, and In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:2, 3

  5. Why Was He Chosen? “ ‘I am your shield; your reward shall be very great’…‘your very own son shall be your heir’…‘Look toward heaven and number the stars, if you are able to number them’…‘so shall your offspring be.’ And he believed the Lord and He counted it to him as righteousness.” Genesis 15:1-6

  6. Why Was He Chosen? “[He] died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar…” Hebrews 11:13 “By faith, Abraham obeyed when he was called…not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in the land of promise.” Hebrews 11:8, 9 “For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.” Hebrews 11:10

  7. What About Us? “Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, ‘In you shall all the nations be blessed.’ So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.” Galatians 3:7-9

  8. What About Us? “He grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was ‘counted to him as righteousness.’ But the words ‘it was counted to him’ were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also.Itwill be counted to us who believe in Him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.” Romans 4:20b-25

  9. What About Us? “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29 “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through Him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:20
