  3. Goal 1. To strengthen KEY strategic collaborative research capabilities within the state’s S&T plan that will enhance Arkansas’ national academic research competitiveness and establish sustainable centers. Goal 2. To support translational research that drives industry-relevant outcomes and ensures regional economic development. Goal 3. To expand the STEM-enabled skills of Arkansas’ students with special emphasis on underrepresented populations to address the workforce needs that support the state’s S&T plan. Goals of ASSET II

Lab Bench to Commercialization • Institutionalize the process: • Entrepreneurial culture for students and faculty • Commercialization Retreat • Brown Bag Lunch professional development series for students • Process mapped out with specific funds & resources that can be leveraged • Governor’s Cup competition • Venture capital forums • NSF I-Corps
