IRENA = Indicator Reporting on the integration of Environmental concerns into Agricultural policy Planned Outputs: • Indicator report on 35 indicators • Datasets for these 35 indicators Indicator-based assessment of AE integration: • In relation to main policy issues and targets • Making use of the IRENA indicators.

  3. Why look at policy integration? • Environmental policy alone is not enough • Tackle environmental pressures in sectoral policies, e.g. transport, agriculture .. • Recognised e.g. in 5 EAP, CBD • ‘Cardiff Process’

  5. How can policy integration be measured? • IRENA grant agreement sets out 4 different aspects: • Institutional integration • Market integration • Management integration • Monitoring/reporting progress
