Statistics In 2004 in North Africa and in the Middle East 540 000 (UNAIDS) persons are infected 250 000 of them are women and rising Sudan is the most struck country: more than two percent of the population is infected. In Morocco officially 15 000 persons are infected. In Libya 90% of the officially reported 5160 HIV infections among Libyans having occurred in 2000–2002 alone Link to chart (Slides 5 and 6)

    11. Become an Ambassador Now that you now a little more about HIV/AIDS, please tell your friends and families about it. Please make sure the facts are properly relayed. Ensure human rights are preserved and stigma is avoided AIDS is a threat and you know it, don’t let this epidemic ruin our future, we have to react quickly. The future is in your hands.
