Purpose of Annual Report • Provide community stakeholders with information regarding RLA’s effectiveness as a DLI Charter School • Provide the RLA Staff with a blueprint for a continuous focus on increasing quality • Meet the requirements set forth in the charter petition • Provide both the RLA and RUSD Board an opportunity to review RLA’s progress in relationship to the charter petition

Key School Wide Goals Achieved in 2009-10: • Met requirements for 5 Year Charter Renewal with RUSD • Finalized expenditures for $450,000.00 Federal Charter Schools Grant. • Met CST growth goals set by the CDE in both ELA and Math (including ALL subgroups) • Exceeded Satisfied/Extremely Satisfied rating from parents, staff and students on annual survey data • Met or exceeded the district average for Average Daily Attendance (ADA) • Launch of RLA Athletics Program (volleyball, girls basketball, boys basketball and co-ed soccer) • Full expansion to K-8 program and enrollment growth on track for full enrollment of 540 students over the next three years (current enrollment at 415 students)

  6. Standards Test Spanish: Math Grade 6-7 students did not have qualifying scores due to the number of RFEP’s; CDE will only track student groups of 10 or more.

  7. Standards Test Spanish: LA Grade 6-7 students did not have qualifying scores due to the number of RFEP’s; CDE will only track student groups of 10 or more.

  8. 2009-10 CELDT Data Trend indicates students are on track to RFEP by grade 8. RLA aims to Redesignate ALL students English Language Proficient prior to entrance into High School.

  9. RLA Financials • RLA continues to keep a reserve balance beyond the suggested minimum • RLA is included in the RUSD Annual Audit and has been found in good standing (2010 audit to be completed December) • RLA is now responsible for approx. 73% of expenses on the Rio/RLA Campus and pays approx. 14% of the indirect service costs from the district office (MOT, Business, Food Service, etc.)
