Title V, Part A - Innovative Programs provides state and LEAs with supplemental funding to implement promising education reform programs, provide a continuing source of innovation and educational improvement, help meet the special educational needs of at-risk and high-need students, and support programs to improve school, student, and teacher performance.

    3. Funded Activities Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Two-Way Immersion (Dual Language) Pre-Kindergarten Program Kindergarten Literacy Private Schools

    4. Past Funding: 2002-03 $138,568 2003-04 $129,000 2004-05 $100,000 2005-06 $65,099 2006-07 $29,567 2007-08 $30,586

    5. Expenditures for 2006-07 6100 (Salaries and Wages) Extra Duty for teachers for staff development for after school trainings Extra Duty for teachers for writing curriculum (PK and K) Substitutes for teachers to attend trainings (Neuhaus, BELLS training, Region 4)

    6. Expenditures for 2006-07 6200-Professional Services Miscellaneous contracted services with consultants for staff development, copies, printing, licensing for staff development from educational service contractor (Speakers from Region 4, Conscious Discipline, Neuhaus)

    7. Expenditures for 2006-07 6300-Supplies Reading materials (books), technology, manipulatives, literacy materials, science materials, iPods, cameras, library reference books, training materials, classroom supplemental materials, workbooks and consumable materials

    8. Expenditures for 2006-07 Fees and Dues Incentives, membership fees, travel, registration for workshops, conferences, awards

    9. Areas for Planned Expenditures Teacher quality, professional development Technology and educational materials Education reform and school improvement Special Needs Parental Options Literacy Early Childhood Education, Adult Ed. Community Service and Involvement Health Services

    10. Two Areas The following must be included in Title V expenditures: Private Schools Pre-Kindergarten

    11. Funding for 2007-08 Funding will be determined by the District Needs Assessment, DPAC, and Title Programs Parent Committee
