THE EARTHQUAKE ACTIVITY IN CZECH REPUBLIC Cheb, there was the earhquake in 2008, the maximum intesity of earthquake was 4,7 on the Richter scale Population over 50 000 • Telc Earthquake 2009, 7.4 on the Richter scale and level of damage: • 16 people died. • 22,000 people evacuated over 50% still ‘unhoused’. • Provisional damage estimate €350m • 1,000 premises destroyed. • The distance between Telč and Cheb is 300 km.
