  • First Draft of Essay #2 due on Monday, November 9, and Wednesday, November 11, depending on your comfort-level
  • Conferences scheduled with JAMc that week
  • Final Draft of Essay #2 – Due Wednesday night, Midnight, November 18.
  • Monday, November 16, Essay #3 assigned – class vote thereupon. Schedule to be determined.
  • November 23 – no class – instructor conflict.

IN-CLASS WRITING EXERCISE
  • 35 minutes
  • Go to our class website and retrieve copy of The Farmer and the Scavenger Essay.
  • Read the essay very carefully and see if you can outline the structure thereof, both overall and within the individual paragraphs.
  • DO NOT worry if you have not read the materials referred to in the essay – just look at the structure.
  • Ideally, highlight structural areas that work, and question areas that don’t.
  • Come back to the classroom prepared to discuss the essay in depth.
