  2. Early Years • Born on Jan. 31 in Cairo, Georgia • He was stuck in slavery • He had 6 older siblings • He lived on a farm in Cairo, Georgia • He could not go to school

  3. The things that had happened • He had to go to the back of the school bus till college. • He had to go to a different restaurants then the whites. • Jackie Robinson won many baseball awards. • In 1940 Jackie met Rachel Isum, a smart beautiful nursing student. • Robinson moved to a lot of different states, like California .

  4. Back then……… • Jackie left UCLA in the Spring in 1941 • African Americans were not treated like white Americans. • When he was 10 he loved to play with his older siblings and his mom was so happy that her kids loved and cared for each other.

  5. Family Life • He could not play with the other white kids in town. • His dad flew away to Florida to get more money and never came back.

  6. Important Contributions • And he was the first African American in the baseball hall of fame. • And he played with the Brooklyn Dodgers for 10 years. • And played against the New York Yankees. • He was in the US Army

  7. Other Interesting Facts We Learned • He was a nice gentle man. • Jackie Roosevelt Robinson was born on January 31 1912. • And was the first black person aloud to play in a league baseball game. • And played in six World Series • Jackie Robinson passed away on October 24, 1972 and we will always remember him as a black history baseball player
