  8. Important Times • Morning Bell rings at 9:05 • Classes start at 9:10 • Lunch 12:20-1:00 • Dismissal 4:01

  9. Snack Time • Students can pack a healthy snack to eat mid-morning.

  10. My Teaching Philosophy • All children are gifted • All children can succeed • We learn by doing and we move forward from our mistakes • Success is the best motivator

  11. My Teaching Philosophy • Children learn by doing • Projects are done in school • Children will be children, I help guide them toward making good decisions during the school day.

  12. The Heart of my Classroom Rules • Don’t be afraid to try • Put effort into whatever you do • Be respectful to others • Be responsible • Don’t freak out!

  14. Child/Parent Responsibilities • Support and guide your child, don’t do it for him or her. (Backpacks, homework, snacks, etc) • Show mom and dad what you can do on your own. • Always remember: No harm has ever come to a child who forgot their homework, folder or library book. • (The first few times)

  16. 3rd Grader Means I don’t feel like doing this right now, so I have an idea, why don’t you just do it for me?

  17. 3rd Grader Says… She didn’t tell us what to do!

  18. 3rd Grader Means Actually she did tell us what to do, but there may be a slight chance I wasn’t listening, so why don’t you just tell me now.

  19. 3rd Grader Says… This is too hard! (AKA) I don’t get it!

  20. 3rd Grader Means… I would much rather be watching TV right now, so why don’t you tell me to do it later, or better yet, why don’t you just do this for me.

  21. 3rd Grader Says… I don’t have any homework.

  22. 3rd Grader Means… Please don’t look in my backpack.

I will do my best each day to give your child relevant knowledge, the courage to try new things, the curiosity to seek new answers and the ability to be the best they can be.
