Dividing the past into Eras

In this lesson, students will explore the concept of historical eras and their significance in understanding Texas history. Using a name tent and flashcards, students will learn to categorize Texas history into key eras, including Natural Texas, Age of Contact, and more. Activities include defining essential terms such as "historian" and "era," arranging flashcards in chronological order, and discussing the importance of chronology. Students will reflect on what makes each era unique and how these divisions help us understand our history.
