  1. DARKNESS OF DARK WEB Although dark web seems creative and entertaining to new comers, experienced users know what’s behind the scenes. Marketplaces of illegal goods are featured in dark web. It has anonymous paying mechanism wherein child pornography and illegal goods are sold. The introduction of cryptocurrency has fueled transactions, thanks to its decentralized mechanism. Now, ransomwares, personal data, stolen card information and all other services are available in dark net. Ransomware services have deeply evolved and now offers customized packages for users. All sorts of malware, data breach software’s and phishing packages are available for novice users. Since mere operative skills are required, the sale of such malicious programs is a bane for internet users. Also the boom in cryptocurrency has accelerated user movement to hidden network. Dark web, although comparable in function is dissimilar from clear net or the more public internet. Being a subset of deep web, dark web has an inaccessible medium for web browsers. This means that none of the standard browsers that are used can access dark web links directly. Hence, privacy greased with anonymity ensures that lurkers have no chances to eavesdrop the data. USAGE AND BENEFITS OF DARK WEB As outlined in earlier articles, dark web is a treasure for privacy seekers. The robust services provided by dark web ensure that traversing the hidden portions of internet is feasible. On the down side, TOR networks are used for unlawful actions also. This nurtures what is termed a ripe base for almost all hapless doings of mankind this planet has ever experienced. This includes but is not limited to controlled marketplaces, identity and personal data theft, leakage of information etc. Till its downfall in 2014, Silk Road has been the celebrated example of why you should not visit dark web. Silk Road, as the name implies, was a smooth space for drugs, arms and other unlawful trade. It was with exemplary effort that the FBI was able to take down their servers. Silk Road is just an example. There are many thousands of websites in the darkest spots of internet. They serve humanity with all the services that are illegal or banned. TOR on the other side of the coin allows privacy. Its anonymity feature empowers used to control their traces. Footprints that are left behind can easily be washed away. This can lead to many organizations and individuals’ option for TOR as an alternative.
