Technology - WAP ■ Problem The unified platform and protocol in mobile environment are needed for accessing web information, like HTTP and Web browser. ■ Solutions WAE = Wireless Application Environment, WML = Wireless Markup Language WMLScript = Wireless Markup Language Script WTA = Wireless Telephony Application WSP = Wireless Session Protocol WTLS = Wireless Transport Layer Security WTP = Wireless Transport Protocol

Technology – QoS ■ Problem We cannot assure that the reliability of wireless links may vary drastically and unpredictably with the mobility of a host and changes in the terrain. ■ Solutions • Mobile IP • Home Agent(HA), Foreign Agent(FA) • Home address, care-of address • IPv6 • Replacement for the current version of IP • RSVP • Resource reservation protocol

  9. 3. Technology – User Interfaces ■ Problem It is obvious that Mobile Web device should be portable. Therefore, the screen must be smaller than user want, and also the user input surroundings are too tricky. ■ Solutions • Voice Recognition • Broad Screen Device (e.g. Hand Held PC, PDA) • PIMS (personal information management system) • Intelligent interfaces (e.g. SKT 1mm)
