  8. PEER MENTORS PROVIDE • Information • Advice • Support: re: Vulnerability (Risk of Suicide & Self Harm) Bereavement issues Relationship issues Positive Role Models

  9. PEER MENTORS PROVIDE • Talks to visitors • Presentations to Conferences Schools Community Projects YOT Groups • Involved in Chaplaincy Services • Involved in meetings Peer Mentors are positive Representatives of Thorn Cross’s work

  10. PEER MENTORS GAIN • Social Skills & Confidence • Presentation Skills • Improved Self Worth / Esteem • Improved Parenting / relationship skills Peer Mentoring is Character Building and develops their positive contribution to Society EVERY YOUNG ADULT MATTERS

  11. Peer mentors may not change the world but can change an individuals world. 2007 - 48 Peer Mentors trained • - 52 Peer Mentors trained 2009 - 44 Peer Mentors trained Out of 144 Mentors 4833% worked out 57 39% given presentations David Ketley presented with the Diana Award HMCIP Good Practice
