  2. Spektrometrų rūšys Nuo to, kokiu būdu analizuojamas bandinys, priklauso naudojamo spektrometro rūšis. Spektrometrai yra: • Statiniai spektrometrai • Jonai atsiskiria, keičiant magnetinio arba elektrinio lauko stiprį. • Dinaminiai spektrometrai • Jonų atskyrimas pagrįstas skirtinga trukme, per kurią jonai nuskrieja tą patį atstumą. • Registruoja jonų virpesius magnetiniame ir kintamajame lauke skirtingu dažniu, sukimosi periodu, rezonanso dažniu.
