JIM was born in Coalburn in 1922

into a family of coalminers

His father, grandfather

& uncle all worked down the pits

a social history

of COALBURN

and

amassed

an amazing collection of photos

JIM produced the well read & well travelled COALBURN CHRONICLES

JIM died in Hairmyres

Hospital, East Kilbride,

from heart failure,

on 9th April 2004

He was 82

JIM’s wishes were carried out by his wife Maureen who arranged for his archive to be passed into the keeping of the people of Coalburn
