  1. Solving Societal Issues Exploring the causes, effects, and solutions to existing societal issues

Project Summary • Each person will sign-up for one problem that exists in society. • There should be no more than four people in one group. • The purpose of this activity is to explore the causes and effects of a particular societal issue and offer support, prevention methods, and solutions for people who are facing the problem you have selected.

The assignment • Using Google.docs, create a PowerPoint presentation on a societal issue of your choice. • Make sure to • Include a title page • introduce the problem with a brief summary. • include a detailed summary of • what causes the problem (4 slide minimum) • the various effects of the problem (4slide minimum) • community resources and treatments/prevention methods for anyone who may encounter the problem(4slide minimum) • Include a works cited page • Use reliable websites • Add images, animation, video clips, etc., only after you have finished organizing all off the information on the PowerPoint

  7. Group Roles • Project Manager • The group should elect one project manager. This person is in charge of: • Keeping the group on task • Assigning roles if the group members cannot come to an agreement quickly • Assisting the other group members with problems and questions • Creating a MLA works cited page • Creating a PowerPoint slide that introduces the problem • Finding pictures, short video clips, music, etc. to enhance the project • Editing the final copy of the project • Turning the project in to the teacher by the due date
