  3. Exercise 1 • How do others perceive you? Manager, Co-workers, Spouse/Siblings, Friends • Write an example of how you are perceived and why. For example, your dog will perceive you as dependable if that water bowl is filled with fresh water regularly.

  4. HowDoesOneGetANegativeReputation? • What’s the book on you?

  5. Exercise 2 • You came to this session for a reason. Please pare up with the person sitting closest to you. You have 5 minutes each to tell the other person about a reputation problem deserved or not that you are facing. Describe what led up to this problem and why you think it happened.

  6. Facts Associated With Having A Negative Reputation • Reputation resides in the mind of others • Reputation is used to judge worthiness • Bad business habits impact reputation • Attitude affects reputation +/- • Once damaged no matter how it happened , whatever the reason, You were involve and repair is necessary.

  7. 1st Step to Repairing the Damage Take a deep breath – and a good, long hard look at yourself. Ask yourself, am I guilty of any of the reputation killers I’ve been accused of.

  8. Trouble Maker Poor Performer Talking too Much Being A Kiss up Lazy Not a Team Player Unprepared Nosy Person Stick Fingers Talk too Loud Know it All Lack Confidence Known Reputation Killers

  9. Exercise 3 • Divide the room in half—left side of the room will form groups of XX and come up with examples of 6 reputations killers on the left side of the screen. The right side of the room will do the same with the right side of the screen.

  10. If you seriously hurt your reputation • Play it Safe • Don’t Dwell • Show Results

  11. Reputation Hurt When Falsely Accused What should I do? What can I do?

  12. POA When Falsely Accused • Meet with appropriate parties • Request Public Apology • Educate you team on what happen • Tell colleagues and associates • Have your innocence proclaimed • Take on new challenges • Maintain professionalism – good humor – good nature

  14. Exercise 4 • Part 4: Personal action plan. In exercise #2 you discussed with your neighbor a reputation problem. Please take 10 minutes to think about how that problem can be resolved.
