1. What are Humidity Calibrations? The process of humidity calibration consists of assessing and adjusting sensors to accurately measure the amount of moisture in the air. The amount of moisture or humidity in the air in comparison to the largest amount that the air can hold at a specific temperature is known as Relative Humidity (RH). To measure RH with precision requires humidity calibrations to ensure that measurement instruments accurately detect moisture in particular environments. Only with the proper adjustments and the correct types of apparatus can you perform an accurate and reliable humidity calibration. The problem with measuring moisture in the air is that it is very sensitive to changes in ambient temperature which can change the output. Using reliable and calibrated devices, it is possible to measure the presence of moisture according to specific conditions and environmental requirements for a specific period.

Most hygrometers are used in lab or controlled settings with the purpose of assessing specific conditions or environments where food storage or pharmaceutical storage and manufacture are facilitated. Because humidity can lead to changes in the air, it can affect conditions where food, medical instruments, and pharmaceuticals are located. Professionals use sensors to measure the overall moisture in the air and to control for conditions that would compromise food safety or manufacture.
