HallamFM is the number one commercial station for the people of Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley and Chesterfield - making Hallam FM the most listened to radio station in South Yorkshire • HallamFM is a locally orientated music station playing adult contemporary music. The station believes it's number one because it listens to what its listeners want. Results from weekly listener surveys determine the music played by the station. Hallam FM entertains and informs listeners in a way that no others can • The number one local commercial radio station for South Yorkshire and the North Midlands • Launched in October 1974, the station broadcasts to Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Rotherham and Chesterfield • HallamFM has won many awards including a Gold Award for Best Personality at the New York Awards, won by Big John at Breakfast • Big John at Breakfast has more listeners than any other station at breakfast in the area • On arriving in Sheffield it's difficult not to encounter Hallam FM within 5 minutes. The station is very much integrated into the city via partnerships with some of the cities iconic buildings.
