  2. Seguin Official Plan 5 Year Review • Section 26 of Planning Act: mandatory OP review every 5 years • Seguin OP in effect April 2007. OP review began July 2011 • July 2011 ~ November 2012: public review and consultation • November 3, 2012: statutory Public Meeting on OP revisions

  3. Seguin Official Plan 5 Year Review • December 2012: OP revisions presented to MMAH • May 2013: MMAH provide OP revision comments • Summer 2013: Additional consultations with provincial ministries • November 18, 2013 – 2nd statutory Public Meeting on OP revisions

Seguin Official Plan 5 Year Review Summary of Official Plan Review updates • Continue to recognize Shoreline, Settlement, and Rural Areas • “Natural Heritage System Approach” • Recreational Carrying Capacity – use as “guideline” on small lakes (B.3.3) • Development policies on high-sensitivity/over-threshold lakes (B.3.1.1.1 and B.3.2.1)
