  2. With the sole purpose of providing you the best glutenfree diet, we have collected restaurants at glutenfree-restaurant.

  3. Soba What is it and what is it made of?Soba are noodles made mainly from buckwheat. The noodles include wheat flour which acts as a binder. How is it eaten? Soba is typically served hot in a soup or cold with a dipping sauce on the side. It is a tradition in Japan to eat “toshikoshi-soba” on New Year’s Eve as a symbol of longevity. Is it gluten free? While soba is mainly made of buckwheat flour, which is naturally gluten free, it also includes wheat flour, which acts as a binder and gives the noodles the desired texture. Soba is also often served with tsuyu (dipping sauce). The dipping sauce usually contains soy sauce, which more likely than not contains gluten.

  4. Japanese Short-Grain Rice What is it and what is it made of? Rice is a grain that is a staple of the Japanese diet. How is it eaten? Japanese eat rice at almost every meal. It may be served with or at the end of a meal. It is also often molded into onigiri (rice balls) with various fillings for an on-the-go snack, Is it gluten free? Rice is naturally gluten free. However, it is important to check what other ingredients rice may be cooked with. In Japan, takikomi-gohan is a common rice dish and is made by cooking rice with vegetables, water and soy sauce, the last of which is likely not gluten free. Additionally, gokoku-mai (five blended rice) is often offered as a healthy alternative. However, it may contain wheat or barley.
