  15. Crisanta-LS Tablets by Cipla (Generic Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets) Warnings Vascular risks: Stop Crisanta-LS tablets if a thrombotic event occurs. Stop at least 4 weeks before and through 2 weeks after major surgery. Start no earlier than 4 weeks after delivery, in women who are not breastfeeding. COCs containing Drospirenone (DRSP) may be associated with a higher risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) than COCs containing Levonorgestrel or some other progestins. Before initiating Crisanta-LS tablets in a new COC user or a woman who is switching from a contraceptive that does not contain Drospirenone, consider the risks and benefits of a DRSP-containing COC in light of her risk of a VTE. Hyperkalemia: DRSP has antimineralocorticoid activity. Do not use in patients predisposed to hyperkalemia. Check serum potassium concentration during the first treatment cycle in women on long-term treatment with medications that may increase serum potassium concentration. Crisanta-LS Tablets by Cipla (Generic Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets) Crisanta-LS Contraceptive Pills and Alcohol Overall, alcohol has not been found to reduce or change the efficacy of birth control; however, it's important to remember that alcohol can impair a person's judgement and may alter behavior as a result. In some cases, it may cause you to miss doses due to vomiting or forgetting to take your medication. Alcohol can also make some side effects of birth control worse. This may also interfere with any form of birth control that requires consistent compliance and consumption. 21. Crisanta-LS Tablets by Cipla (Generic Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets) Crisanta-LS Tablets During Nursing When possible, the nursing mother should be advised to use other forms of contraception until she has weaned her child. Estrogen-containing COCs can reduce milk production in breastfeeding mothers. This is less likely to occur once breastfeeding is well-established; however, it can occur at any time in some women. Small amounts of oral contraceptive steroids and/or metabolites are present in breast milk. After oral administration of 3 mg Drospirenone /0.03 mg Ethinyl Estradiol (Crisanta-LS) tablets, about 0.02% of the DRSP dose was excreted into the breast milk of postpartum women within 24 hours. This results in a maximal daily dose of about 0.003 mg DRSP in an infant.
