  7. lash, lunge, herons plunge

  8. Splitter, splatter, minnows scatter

  9. Circle, swirl, whirligigs twirl

  10. Sweep, swoop, swallows scoop

  11. Click, clack, claws crack

  12. dabble, dip, tails flip

  13. splish, splash, paws flash

  14. Pile, pack, muskrats stack.

  15. Chill breeze, winter freeze…..

  16. Cold night, sleep tight, small, small pond.

TEKS The Pre-K TEKS for Language and Early Literacy state for: • (1) Listening Comprehension the child will be able to listen to tapes and records, and shows understanding through gestures, actions, and/or language. • (5) Phonological Awareness  the child willbegin to identify rhymes and rhyming sounds in familiar words, participates in rhyming games, and repeats rhyming songs and poems. • (6) Print and Book Awareness The child will understands that reading and writing are ways to obtain information and knowledge, generate and communicate thoughts and ideas, and solve problems, that print runs from left to right and top to bottom, that illustrations carry meaning but cannot be read, and to recognize the association between spoken and written words by following the print as it is read aloud.
