  16. Attentionfaîtes très attention

  17. 70: in french is equal to 60 and 10 • Like 17 , 18, and 19 • You remember: dix-seppt, dix-huit, dix-neuf • So, how do you say 70 in french ? • Soixante-dix

  18. 70 and 60, 10 ! • This is where things start to go a little bit strange. • Numbers 60 - 79 are all 60 + another number. ie. 63 = 60 + 3 = soixante-trois and73 = 60 + 13 = soixante-treize

  19. 70 and 60, 10 ! • 70  soixante-dix • 71  soixante-onze • 72  soixante-douze • 73  soixante-treize • 74  soixante-quatorze • 75  soixante-quinze • 76  soixante-seize • 77  soixante-dix-sept • 78  soixante-dix-huit • 79  soixante-dix-neuf

  20. Moving on to the very strange.

  21. 80, 90 et 100 • A little guess please • Cinquante trente • Soixante vingt • Huit dix • Non non non • It’s simple • Quatre- vingt = 80

  22. FOUR x TWENTY (of course!): • In French 80 is refered to as four twenties. • 80 - 99 are all refered to as 80 + another numberie. 83 = quatre-vingt-trois and93 = 80 + 13 = quatre-vingt-treize.Notice that 81 is not written like 41,51 etc..

  23. 80  quatre-vingts • *81  quatre-vingt-un • 82  quatre-vingt-deux • 83  quatre-vingt-trois • 84  quatre-vingt-quatre • 85  quatre-vingt-cinq • 86  quatre-vingt-six • 87  quatre-vingt-sept • 88  quatre-vingt-huit • 89  quatre-vingt-neuf

  24. 90  quatre-vingt-dix • 91  quatre-vingt-onze • 92  quatre-vingt-douze • 93  quatre-vingt-treize • 94  quatre-vingt-quatorze • 95  quatre-vingt-quinze • 96  quatre-vingt-seize • 97  quatre-vingt-dix-sept • 98  quatre-vingt-dix-huit • 99  quatre-vingt-dix-neuf

  25. 100= cent • Percentage: pour cent age • %%%%%% • Out of 100

  26. Counting 100+ • Overview:Now being able to say and recognise the numbers in French up to 100 is good. But at the same time a bit limited, now it's time to take a look at all those other numbers between 100 and Infinity ! Objective:Understand how to construct numbers from 100 to infinity (..and beyond!)

  27. NOMBRES > 100 ! • If you can remember all the numbers up to 100 then numbers greater than 100 are actually quite straightforward. • MULTIPLE 20's and 100's:When you have multiple 'vingt' OR 'cent' expressions they are written pluralie. 80 = quatre-vingts400 = quatre cents..BUT..'cent' only takes an S when it is more than 100 and not followed by another number. ie. 210 = deux cent dix! (No 'S')Mille (1000) though is never plural !ie. 8000 = huit mille!

  28. 101  cent un   • 111  cent onze • 222  deux cent vingt-deux • 333  trois cent trente-trois • 444  quatre cent quarante-quatre • 555  cinq cent cinquante-cinq • 666  six cent soixante-six • 777  sept cent soixante-dix-sept • 888  huit cent quatre-vingt-huit • 999  neuf cent quatre-vingt-dix-neuf • 1001  mille un
