Distributed Computing • “分散式運算”(Distributed computing) • 最具代表性的專案計劃 (project) 就是美國柏克萊大學的 SETI@home (在家尋找外星智慧). 從天文望遠鏡所接收到的無線電波訊號資料何其龐大! • 而 SETI@home project 就是把這些訊號資料切割成無數小塊的資料,分配給自願參加的使用者, 讓安裝於個人電腦中的 SETI@home program, 在電腦閒置的時候分析這些資料, 再把分析結果回傳給 SETI@home Server, 完全不影響個人電腦的運作, 而達到資料運算的目的.
