Enhancing PhD Education through Collaborative Research and Tailored Course Offerings

Since 1990, the PhD system has evolved at RU and UMCN, focusing on research-driven training and generic skills development. Under José van de Ven's leadership, we implemented a revised course offering, allowing more flexible registration and expanded options for PhD candidates. Our initiative emphasizes collaboration with faculty and incorporates feedback from evaluations and surveys. Key courses cover academic writing, presentation skills, and career management, providing a foundation for successful research careers. For insights and support, check our comprehensive PhD candidates' website.
