OBJECTIVES • DEFINE AND ADAPT SERVICES IN COLLABORATION WITH USER DEPARTMENTS • CREATE A SINGLE CERN LOGISTICS PLATFORM BASED ON EXISTING QUALIAC AND BAAN APPLICATIONS • SYNERGIES AND COST EFFICIENCY IN RESOURCES AND MATERIALS: - OPTIMIZED USE OF EXISTING RESOURCES - CENTRALIZED OUTSOURCED CONTRACTS MANAGEMENT - SIMPLIFIED ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSES FOR USERS - MAXIMIZED AUTOMATION (QUALIAC AND BAAN) - FULL TRACEABILITY OF OPERATIONS AND MATERIALS - SINGLE WINDOW FILING (EDH)

METHODS • CENTRALIZE ALL CERN SUPPLY-CHAIN MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES INCLUDING ON-SITE DISTRIBUTION • HARMONIZE STOCKS’ MANAGEMENT INTO BAAN • OPTIMIZE PROCUREMENT BY DEVELOPING FRAME CONTRACTS, DECREASE COST BY USING E-BUSINESS / PUNCH-OUT CATALOGUES WHEN APPROPRIATE • DEVELOP EXTERNAL PROCUREMENT COLLABORATION WITHIN WOLRDWIDE PHYSICS COMMUNITY (INFN, GSI, ESA etc.)
