  10. What can you do? • Discourage the idea that body size and shape define you • Don’t categorize food as good or bad • Don’t comment on others body shape • Challenge body image myths. Healthy comes in all shapes and sizes • Being thin doesn’t make you beautiful (media)

  11. Signs of Disordered Eating Patterns • Significant increase or decrease in weight • Change in eating patterns • Preoccupation with calories and fat • Frequently worrying about body size and shape • Excessive exercising

  12. How You Can Help a Friend • Be a positive role model • Be educated about eating disorders • Know healthy behaviors • Express your concern. Use I language. • You can’t fix the problem. Provide support. • Encourage them to seek professional help

  13. Do you or someone you know…? Having said all of this, let’s look at behaviors or attitudes that people you know have or even you yourself might do.

  16. Plan your food intake precisely?
