  10. Core Actions What: Student Achievement Partners identified core actions for ELA and Math as instructional guides to Common Core aligned practice in the classroom. Instructional Research and Development has developed 2-3 core actions for each content area &included specific scaffolds &supports for English Language Learners or Students with Disabilities Why: To identify content-specific instructional practices that help students master Common Core

PD Design Principles What: A set of guiding principles to follow when designing professional learning experiences Why: To increase the impact of professional learning experiences on student learning How: Lead teachers will help schools apply; OHC Professional Learning & Growth team will help district PD apply

Work Time Last time… • Identify an area of PD you would like to strengthen • Identify 1 or more Design Principle you would like to apply • Identify a way to measure progress Today… • Find a colleague who is working on something similar • Sit together and use the next few hours to get work done however you see fit By 2:15… • Prepare a summary of what you worked on today and your next steps

Announcements • Consulting Teacher opportunity • Goals &action plans must be approved in EDFS by November 1, 2014 • Stay tuned for Staff & Student Survey info: we are piloting surveys in each school and will ask you to work with your principal/headmaster to identify a point person for administration

  24. Next Steps • Begin implementing your plans • Answer your colleagues’ questions and/or connect them to OHC

Deliverables • Submit logs of any work (during or outside of the school day): • Drop-in office hours • School-based PD sessions • Common Planning Time • ILT meetings • Time spent distributing info, guidance docs, data, or resources • Time spent developing resources, gathering data, or planning PD • Capstone Product (due in early June) • Work Log Collection Dates: • Dec 2nd: 4-6 work log entries • Feb 3rd: 3-5 additional entries • Apr 7th: 2-4 additional entries • Upload any documents associated with your entries to the Google Drive.
