  2. Thinking Points • What happened at the end of the story? • Were you surprised by the twist? • Can you think of any other stories that have twists at the end? • What do you think the moral of this story might be?

  3. Alliteration • Alliteration is when the first letter or sound of a word is repeated For example: Sam saw a swimmer in the sea Or, from the story: “The royal courtroom was buzzing with conversation as Akbar’s advisors awaited the arrival of their Emperor”

  4. Alliteration • Why do you think writers use alliteration? • Can you think of some examples of your own?

  5. A Twist in the Tale In “The Innocent Punishment” there is a twist at the end of the story. • Why do you think the writer wrote the story in this way?

  6. A Twist in the Tale • Your task is to write a story of your own • It should have a twist at the end to keep your reader guessing! • Try and use at least one example of alliteration • Your story could have a wise advisor, or something completely different!

  7. Think about… Writing your story • Who is your main character? • Where is your story set? • When do the events take place? • What will happen to your main character? • Remember to include a twist!
