  1. EdReady Enterprise Deployment Guide

  2. Plan • Build a team. Determine who will benefit from participating with EdReady; teachers, principals, guidance counselors, students, etc. • Get permission. Get your principal or dean on board, their buy in can help facilitate and expedite the implementation process. • Determine an EdReady launch date. • Determine if your school has a designated computer lab that can be made available for students to access reliable technology. • Determine if your school will manage EdReady participation online. If so, create a plan for supporting students. Refer to Start Package Guide PDF for tips for building online communities.

  3. Organize • Among the team, determine roles and responsibilities. • Schedule computer lab for weekly use. Ensure all computers are operational. • Prepare informational materials for distribution either electronically or on paper. See sample Recruitment Flyer PDF. • Identify ways to reach students: schedule an all school assembly or email blast introducing EdReady, recruit and train student EdReadyleaders to conduct short presentations to classes, after school club meetings and sports events. • Don’t underestimate the power of students recruiting other students. Reach out and prepare students from various groups to recruit their peers.

  4. Recruit Communication Strategies • Post to social media sites – Twitter, Facebook,online school links etc. • E-mail school distribution list, including parents. • Encourage Facilitators/students to communicate via email and social networking. • Conduct all school informational assembly • Recruit student leaders to conduct 15-minute presentations in classrooms (post assembly, student leaders can conduct a Q & A) Offer a variety of training options • face-to-face training in a variety of locations • online training • hybrid training- both online and face-to-face

  5. Retain & Educate • A students successful participation and preparation for college is strengthened by learning how to conduct research and formulate questions. • Ongoing support is invaluable for retaining student participation. Please see Facilitator Guide PDF for tips of building face-to-face and online discussions. • Identify student leaders that can help support other students. • Provide regular Tips & Tricks to motivate and support participants.

  6. Build Community • Communicate to students that preparing for college is only the first step. And that preparation includes learning how to be successful during the college experience. • Consider holding information sessions on campus or online based on college readiness topics of interest. Utilize NROC resources available in web and print formats for building knowledge about preparation and planning for college and beyond. • Highlight what it takes to be successful in preparing for college.
