  3. STANDING COMMITTEES Purpose Committee members study and make recommendations to the Board on projects, programs, or FGFOA policy positions that will enhance the value of the organization to its membership.

  4. Standing committees Membership President appoints Eligibility: Active, retired, or associate Chairs/Sub-committee chairs Only active members

  5. CERTIFICATION COMMITTEE Purpose Administers and oversees the Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) program

  6. CERTIFICATION COMMITTEE Responsibilities Approve applications CFGO Exams Update study materials Review classes CGFO renewals Random sampling

  7. Conference Host Committee Purpose Plans and organizes various events and activities at the annual conference.

  8. Conference Host Sub-Committees Theme/logo, welcome bags, and speaker gifts Volunteers Golf/Sport Events Association Night Opening Session Tuesday Night Event Hospitality Suite President’s Reception Transportation

  9. Conference PROGRAM Committee Purpose Plans and develops the educational program at the Annual Conference and Pre-Conference to help improve the quality of financial management in government units.

  10. Conference PROGRAM Sub-Committees Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting Budget and Management Economics, Pensions, Personnel, and Risk Management Treasury Management and Banking Small Governments Pre-Conference

  11. Legislative Committee Purpose Provides geographically based information network to assist in promoting, sponsoring and opposing proposed legislation before the State Legislature.

  12. Legislative Committee Responsibilities Researches topics of interest Prepares Annual Legislative Policy Statement Evaluates proposed legislation Keeps FGFOA members informed

  13. MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT Committee Purpose Actively engages both existing and potential members to enhance the Association. Promotes growth and leadership opportunities to current members through the mentoring program.  Promotes government careers though the scholarship program.

  14. MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT Committee Responsibilities Initiate and promote diverse membership Enhance strength and viability of FGFOA by encouraging membership Administer mentoring and scholarship programs

  15. School of Governmental Finance Committee Purpose Responsible for providing educational opportunities and the enhancement of professional government skills.

  16. School of Governmental Finance Committee Responsibilities Develop and coordinate a consecutive 4 ½ day participative program Determine Educational Sessions Secures speakers

  17. Technical Resources Committee Purpose Serves as a resource for the FGFOA membership on all technical matters.

  19. WEBINARCommittee Purpose Plan and arranges webinars by identifying a broad range of relevant topics and scheduling knowledgeable speakers.

  20. WEBINARCommittee Responsibilities Provide stimulating educational and training opportunities for government financial professionals Provide a minimum of four webinars annually
