  1. Please silence your cell phoneduring the Service.Thank you.

  2. “Alas! and Did My Savior Bleed” Alas! and did my Savior bleed, And did My sov'reign die?Would He devote that sacred head For sinners such as I?

  3. Was it for sins that I had done He groaned upon the tree?Amazing pity, grace unknown,And love beyond degree!

  4. Well might the sun in darkness hide And shut its glories inWhen God, the mighty Maker, died For His own creatures' sin.

  5. But tears of grief cannot repay The debt of love I owe; Here, Lord, I give myself away:It's all that I can do.

  6. The Oder of Confession and Absolution P: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. C: Amen. P: Most holy and merciful Father, C: We confess to you and to one another, and to the whole communion of saints in heaven and on earth, that we have sinned by our own fault in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.

  7. P: We have not loved you with our whole heart, mind and strength. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We have not forgiven others, as we have been forgiven. Have mercy on us, Lord. C: We have been deaf to your call to serve as Christ served us. We have not been true to the mind of Christ. We have grieved your Holy Spirit. Have mercy on us, Lord.

  8. P: Restore us, good Lord, and let your anger depart from us. C: Hear us, Lord, for your mercy is great. Amen. P: By the cross and passion of your Son, our Lord, C: Bring us with all your saints to the joy of his resurrection.

  9. P: Almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, does not desire the death of sinners, but rather that they may turn from their wickedness and live. Therefore we implore him to grant us true repentance and His Holy Spirit, that those things may please him which we do on this day, that the rest of our life may be pure and holy, and that at the last we may come to his eternal joy.

  10. P: Now, as a called and ordained minister of the Church of Christ, and by his authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. C: Amen.

  11. Jeremiah 31:31-34 31 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD.

  12. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,” for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

  13. Hebrews 10:15-25 15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, 16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,” 17 then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” 18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

  14. 19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

  15. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

  16. Luke 22:7-20 7 Then came the day of Unleavened Bread, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. 8 So Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat it.”9 They said to him, “Where will you have us prepare it?” 10 He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you.

  17. Follow him into the house that he enters 11 and tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 12 And he will show you a large upper room furnished; prepare it there.” 13 And they went and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover. 14 And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him.

  18. 15 And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” 17 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. 18 For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes

  19. 19 And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 20 And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”

  20. “Lord of Glory” Lord of glory, You have bought us With Your lifeblood as the price,Never grudging for the lost ones That tremendous sacrifice; And with that have freely given Blessings countless as the sandTo th'unthankful and the evil With Your own unsparing hand.

  21. Grant us hearts, dear Lord, to give You Gladly, freely of Your own. With the sunshine of Your goodness Melt our thankless hearts of stoneTill our cold and selfish natures, Warmed by You, at length believeThat more happy and more blessed'Tis to give than to receive.

  22. Lord of glory, You have bought us With Your lifeblood as the price,Never grudging for the lost ones That tremendous sacrifice.Give us faith to trust You boldly, Hope, to stay our souls on You;But, oh, best of all Your graces, With Your love our love renew.

  25. The Great Thanksgiving: P: Always and everywhere it is right to give thanks to You, O Lord, holy Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who gave His life on the cross for us, that, freed from the power of sin and death, we might have eternal joy in Your presence, renewed in faith and life. And so, with the church on earth and the hosts of heaven, we praise Your name and join their unending hymn:

  29. “Go to Dark Gethsemane” Go to dark Gethsemane, All who feel the tempter's pow'r;Your Redeemer's conflict see. Watch with Him one bitter hour;Turn not from His griefs away; Learn from Jesus Christ to pray.

  30. Follow to the judgment hall, View the Lord of life arraigned;Oh, the wormwood and the gall!Oh, the pangs His soul sustained!Shun not suff'ring, shame, or loss; Learn from Him to bear the cross.

  31. Calv'ry's mournful mountain climb; There, adoring at His feet,Mark that miracle of time, God's own sacrifice complete."It is finished!" hear Him cry; Learn from Jesus Christ to die.

  32. Early hasten to the tomb Where they laid His breathless clay; All is solitude and gloom. Who has taken Him away?Christ is ris'n! He meets our eyes. Savior, teach us so to rise.

  33. “On My Heart Imprint Your Image” On my heart imprint Your image,Blessed Jesus, King of grace,That life’s riches, cares, and pleasures Never may Your work erase;Let the clear inscription be:Jesus, crucified for me,Is my life, my hope’s foundation,And my glory and salvation!
