  3. Area Needs & Challenges • Limited services (hours & days of operation) • Inadequate funding • Need for out-of-county & inter-county medical & work-related trips • Limits on number of subscription trips accommodated • Transit deserts

  4. Regional Collaboration Approach • Realizing there was a strong network of TD partners that shared similar issues, we began to reach out & gather expertise to plan & develop new services to expand capacity

Brainstorming Alternatives • TD Working Group/Steering Committee • Ad hoc, multi-county agency staff meet informally to solve problems, share expertise, brainstorm & develop program alternatives • Alternative Analysis (Martin County) • Developed list of 9 potential “capacity builder” alternatives • Transportation Co-op (St. Lucie County) • Developed concept for transportation co-op & resource sharing with Treasure Coast Food Bank

Public & Private Partnerships • Transportation Coordination Network • Transportation bank formed by social agencies, coordinated contractors, CTC & transit agency • Pilot Voucher Program • CILO & CTC agreement • Volunteer Driver Program • M/TPOs, Martin & St. Lucie Counties, FDOT & MTM, Inc. • Inter-County Transportation Agreement • M/TPOs, CTCs, FDOT & LCBs • Voluntary Taxi Certification Program • M/TPOs, CTCs, FDOT & LCBs

  13. Service Delivery & Results • Increased trip capacity & availability • Extended hours to cover service gaps outside of regular operating hours • Out-of-county trips provided through co-op and volunteer program • Introduce taxi vouchers - utilize taxis for short trips
