  1. AvioPolska • Avio Polska manufacturing plant is located in Bielsko-Biała in the Silesian Region of Poland, • Employees: 337 (including 78 engineers in the engineering centre), • Annual turnover: 45 M Euro, • Investments:25M Euroup to now, • Production Centre – blades and vanes machining (GE90 vanes and blades, CFM56 – blades, T700 – blades, PW308 – blades, GEnX 2B – vanes), • Engineering centre – involvment in almost all Avio projects, • Representative Office in Warsaw.

  2. Newest project of Avio Polska • Participation in design and manufacturing of the most modern aircraft engine: GEnx-2B: • application: new long range aircraft: Boeing 747-8 (successor of the „Jumbo”); • 15% lower SFC, • Ability to operate 30% longer with a 30% increase in parts’ life comparing to engines that Genx will replace (significant reduction of costs), • Emmisions 95% below current limits, • Avio Responsibility: design, prototype research and implementation of production of the GEnX 2B LPT Stator, • In 2008 Avio Polska decided to invest almost 25 M Euro in years 2008 – 2011 to increase capacity to produce stator vanes for GEnX 2B and other new blades and vanes, • On 28 of August 2009, Avio Polska signed the contract with Polish Agency for Enterpreneurship Development (on behalf of Polish Ministry of Economy) to support Avio initiative by the funds in amount of 9 M Euro.

Research – CFTTF Laboratory in Warsaw • Joint initiative of representants of scientific-technological consorcium with participation of Avio Polska, WZL4 S.A. and polish schools (Warsaw University of Technology, Military Technical Academy), • Global most modern laboratory dedicated to research and testing of aircraft engine turbine prototypes, • Investment Value: approx. 45 M Euro. Project is open for new partners from industry and science.

Overhaul (MR&O) • Avio – european leader in aircraft engine overhaul industry (PW100, T700, LM2500, AE2100), • Engine overhaul centre in Warsaw: Polish Aircraft Engines Group POLONIA AERO (joint venture of Avio and WZL4 S.A.): • objective: to meet current demands in terms of modern aircraft engine maintenance (cooperation with Polish Air Force), • MRO services for Middle and Eastern European operators. FUTURE PLANS • Small aircraft maintenance centre in Czechowice-Dziedzice, • Small engines overhaul by WSK Kalisz within the Silesian Park of Aviation Technology,

Research – Silesian Scientific Technological Centre of Aviation Industry • Project considered as a key project by polish Ministry of Regional Development, • Investment value: 12 M Euro, • Cooperation with: Main Mining Institute, Silesian University of Technology, University of Bielsko-Biała, • R&D together with manufacturing of high-tech composite components for aviation and military industry, • Production centre for small aviation companies cooperating with key players in aircraft engine industry, • Creation of a service centre for small aircraft engines, • Creation of a professional training and education centre,

Cooperation with Aviation Valley • Almost all members of Silesian Aviation Cluster remain members of the Aviation Valley, • Establishing of a second Aviation Cluster in Poland basing on gained experience, • Cooperation between clusters – laboratories available for other members of the Aviation Valley,
