GAMBIT'S The team: • Monica, Raluca, Sabina, and Victor • Project manager: Carmen Popescu Mission Statement: The chess board is the market, the rules of the game are what we call the laws of commerce and there’s no room for mistakes. In our view, investments do not mean sacrifice. They’re the root of progress, and our job is to highlight your company’s ideal moves in its quest for excellence and make them possible. Purposes: • Devising ever more effective and less time-consuming solutions for easy access and easy manipulation of information, our company offers innovative possibilities of reducing expenses, adapting to the ever-increasing requirements of the clients and successfully facing the relentless competition on the market. • Behaving professionally in the modern working environment does not resume to offering perfect services. Gaining more and more control of the company, identifying and destroying the procedural time- and money-consumers and maintaining a "friendly interface" with the clients, associates and employees is essential. A "Gambit’s" database is designed to fit your company perfectly, just as an implant does, and will just do the trick.

Business Description: • The "Paltinul " clinic from Sibiu is a modern and significant instance of the local medical private system, offering a broad range of medical services, possessing modern high-quality equipment and employing highly competent personnel. • Such an elegant status urges unceasing improvements, such as storing data within the most efficient, cutting-edge databases, which allow uncomplicated high-speed accessing and querying. • Further advantages of this upgrade are unlimited possibilities to improve the quality of the services provided, to reduce unnecessary costs and to minimize time consumption, caused by imperfections in business procedures and especially in data storage.

Business Needs (I): • well organised and stored database: The intricate nature of the company's rules and procedures make the necessity of storing and easily accessing immense amounts of information unquestionable • refreshing and restructuring employee status: The implementation of the database will provide the business with a new vision of the employee structure, eliminate unnecessary staff and reassign tasks for each working person • the “Paltinul “Clinic from Sibiu needs to keep track of all patients, past and present, their medical history, along with all receipts issued at a given time. This simplifies the information storage and access process, thus allowing patients and doctors to save time and money, also it simplifies the process of finding and refreshing one’s information, saving money too

Business Needs (II): • our client’s staff is well trained and there is a need to permanently keep track and monitor information regarding salary for each member (employee) • the business’s manager must, at all times, have full access to the database, for quick references, easy alterations and an overall potential of solving all tasks fast, simple and with high reliability, so our mission was also focused on creating a reliable, working database with easy query and alteration possibilities • we need to devise a system that is so easy-to-use and reliable that even the employees that have nothing to do with data modelling can understand and explain it

Other conclusions drawn from the interview regarding business rules: • a patient can not benefit from a medical examination without a prior appointment • appointments are scheduled by a registering clerk • information regarding all patients (their medical history, along with all receipts issued at a given time) remain stored within the archives of the clinic
